Sarah Pumphrey
Designer + Project Manager
As a Designer and Project Manager at Studio Luz, Sarah seeks to ensure that architecture and urbanism work together to create accessible, equitable spaces. Sarah takes a care-focused approach to design when working on our housing, campus planning and urban design projects with special interest in re-use to promote a sustainable better quality of life.
A graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design and James Madison University’s School of Art, Design, and Art History, Sarah continues to practice equitable design; from the education and workplaces of designers themselves, to who our designs work for, and how. Prior to joining Studio Luz, Sarah worked as an intern at Machado Silvetti Architects working on comprehensive planning, educational and institutional projects. Outside of the office when she is not rethinking the “boxes” that architecture inhabits, you can find Sarah curating her collection of ethical fashion, books, restaurant recommendations, petting dogs on walks around Cambridge, or telling everyone about her niece.
